Art By Samantha V
Unit 2 Watercolor
Master: Gustave Caillebotte
Current: Zhiyu Cao
About my Piece:
This watercolor piece was first inspired by a video game called Genshin Impact that I enjoy. The landscapes of villages in tall mountains from the game are beautiful and I wanted to create my own version of it. I chose Gustave as my master artist because I liked how he did perspective in his paintings. In my piece I tries to do the same by giving a perspective of looking out from the side of a mountain. The inspiration from my current artist is how he created his buildings. The structure of the buildings in my art were inspired from his pieces and also depth of perception of the buildings.

What Went Well: Something I thought was fun and easy was choosing the color palette and depth of mountains and getting that depth of perception.

Struggles: Trying to figure out where my source of light was and technique of the leaves on the trees.
